Care & Cleaning Instructions

Complying with the Association for Contract Textiles (ACT) Performance Standards, all Posh Textiles Fabrics are durable, colorfast, and only require low-maintenance care. We recommend following our guidelines on how to clean fabrics to maintain their superior quality.

SOLVENT CLEANING AGENT REQUIRED

  • Clean and care: Use a vacuum cleaner with an upholstery brush attachment to keep on top of dirt and dust.
  • Spills and stains: Gently blot small spills with a clean sponge as soon as possible, without pushing the liquid further into the fabric. Vacuum dry and solid materials.
  • Non-colorfast fabrics: Be aware that denim and other apparel fabrics can rub off onto our upholstery; a process known as “reverse-crocking”. Stain-resistant treatments applied will not prevent this.
  • Caution:Some cleaning methods may cause damage to underlying materials in walls, panels, or furniture. Contact the manufacturer for recommendations and precautions prior to any cleaning procedure.

WATER-BASED CLEANING AGENT REQUIRED

  • Clean and care: Use a water-based cleaner. Always check for colorfastness first, by testing the product on a small, hidden area of the fabric.
  • Spills and stains: Apply cleaning agent with a clean cloth and rub gently to remove the stain, working from the exterior before tackling the center. Lightly dab smaller stains.
  • Caution: Refrain from using an excessive amount of product and ensure to turn cloth frequently to avoid re-depositing the stain. Allow fabric to dry completely without the use of heat.

WATER-BASED AND/OR SOLVENT CLEANING AGENT REQUIRED

  • Clean and care: Use a water-based and/or solvent cleaning agent to clean. Always check for colorfastness first, by testing the product on a small, hidden area of the fabric.
  • Spills and stains: Apply cleaning agent with a clean cloth and rub gently to remove the stain, working from the exterior before tackling the center. Lightly dab smaller stains.
  • Caution: Refrain from using an excessive amount of product and ensure to turn the cloth frequently to avoid re-depositing the stain. Allow fabric to dry completely without the use of heat. Do not use wet vacuum machines as they can leave water rings and soap residue behind.

Cleaning and Disinfecting Silicones

  • Remove ordinary dirt and smudges with mild soap and water.
  • A 10:1 ratio of water to bleach solution may be used as a disinfectant. Rinse the surface with clean water after disinfecting. Dry with a soft, lint-free cloth or towel.
